I just "saved" this old gun. It was a mess all rusted but the bore was not and had good rifling. I reblued it (my first time ever) and if I do say so myself it looks good. It did NOT have a bolt so I got one from eGunparts... Now for the problem.. It fired one round which left a nice primer mark but after that... nada. I of course completely stripped the bolt to be sure it was clean. The firing pin falls but will not do more that make a slight mark on the primer... I saw a post here from about three ago with about the same problem and checked the chamber area... it looks fine... Could I have a problem with the bolt I just purchased?
I wonder why the first round fired so well and then nothing ;-) Any help/ideas appreciated.
THANKS... I'd like my "first gunsmithing" attempt to be a success.
