I picked up a weatherby the other day for a song but it has a cheapo butler creek stock. The mold seams stuck out bad and were sharp so I sanded down the seams and got the stock nice and smooth . Now I want to cammo paint it but I want to make sure of a good finish that will stick and be durable . Any suggestions on type of paint and tips .. Thanks

You might try the Krylon Fusion spray paint - it was formulated specially to stick to plastic stuff, like cheapo patio furniture and toys.

I used it to paint an aluminum 10-22 receiver & triggerguard.

I also have a project were I need to paint plastic, and went down to Napa to get some of that fusion, and the in house paint guy showed me another product that was just an adhesion promoter. It was on the same shelf as the fusion, and its clear. you just paint over it with whatever.

You also might check out Brownell's, they have paints designed just for what your talking about in colors designed for stocks.

Well I went to the paint store and got some of that fusion paint in cammo colors . It looks good and I'm going to let it hang for a week to cure . Time will tell if it holds up . Thanks guys
