OK, got my new M700 SS Laminated Mtn Rifle home, looks great, and predictably, the trigger requires two fingers to get it to go off.

No Problem, done this many times.

After scraping and picking the best glue job I've seen so far outa' the screw heads, they are not slotted screws. My first guess with the old guy eyes was that they were allen screws. Got tons of allen wrench sets, including metric, but none of the wrenches fit. Pulling out the magnifying glass, maybe torx wrenches. Got those too, still nothing that fits though.

Looking at it with my best and biggest magnifying glass with a lamp and all. I doesn't appear to be either. Anybody got a clue?

If this is one of the new 700's I haven't dealt with those triggers, just the old slotted screwdriver models. Let us know what fits them. I'm inclined to think allen wrenches also, but haven't looked at them.

You might give Brownell's tech section an email and ask if they know what it takes to adjust the new Remington trigger. Here's the link.

Thanks Bob, I'll do that right now.

I looked pretty close though. It isn't like a allen or torx at all.

I'll post whatever Brownell's comes up with.

I haven't worked a new one either. The only one that you didn't mention was square drive. Torx or allen seems most likely. Or a "tamper resistant" variant there of?
