Recieved a gift today in the form of the Lee shell holder set, the supposed 11 most popular shell holders "we" will ever need? Not sure why the set comes with one missing? Anyway, I noticed that the shell holder numbers dont corespond with the RCBS shell holder numbers, is this an oversight on my part or does RCBS number their shell holders different than Lee? I currently have a # 3 RCBS in my Rock Chucker to handle 30-06 and 243(which now I'm wondering if it's the right one?) and I noticed the Lee set indicates using their #2 shell holder for these calibers.

Lee does use a different numbering scheme. RCBS #3 is correct for the .30-06 and .243 Winchester. Lee #5 fits the .303 British and .375 H&H Magnum family. Check your reloading manual for a cross reference chart. Some of them have one. I've got a chart around here somewhere that I'll post if I find it.

Thanks Jack, I'll be sure to keep on top of the number difference, I'm just glad to hear I've been using the correct RCBS shell holder all this time.

Lyman #48 has a cross-reference chart in the back between Lyman, Hornady, RCBS and Redding. There's not much correlation between them.

With your set of Lee shell holders will be a card that tells what number corresponds with which cartridges.
