Not all that great either, from Brownells Tech Supporrt:

Dear Sir,
We certainly do appreciate your interest in Brownells.
The only screw that is adjustable on the new triggers is the spring tension screw. Remington has the others fixed so they will not turn. That screw takes a 1/16" Allen wrench. Thanks for writing.

I'm thinking Easy Out? And a new set of screws.

Brownells is not at fault. They supply tools to gunsmiths.
Remington made your trigger.
Aim your anger at the target.

Try going to this site and see if it has something to offer. http://www.snipercountry.com/Articles/RemingtonTriggers.asp
If you don't find help on the page that opens, on the very bottom left there is a place where you can "go back to articles" I think is what it says. Go back and scroll down about half way and see if there is something that will help you. Good luck and happy shooting ! !

You can always go the aftermarket route, Timny, and Rifle Basic all have excellent triggers that will fit the new Remmy. Keep in mind you want to keep your old trigger cause if you ever have to send your rifle in for factory warrentee you won't get an aftermarket trigger back.

Frankly, I have to wonder where that came from. The folks at Brownells were nice enough to clue me in on the new Remington triggers, andf I was passing that on to the forum.

Bob, I've never swapped a trigger myself, How hard is it to get it right? I'm not too worried about warrantee service, as I'll shoot it with the tension screw backed out just to see, and if it goes bang, bang, for a box or two, it probably always will.

As I noted, I'm tempted to try an easy out on the existing "non-screws", and see if Brownells can supply replacement sets. Somebody must have dropped a couple on the floor and needed replacements. I'm sure they have some.

My fault TMan. I have much respect for Brownells. They give us tools to fix what the makers lawers will not.
I type poorly on a keyboard.
Praise for Brownells was my intention.

Tman, order your self one of the aftermarket triggers and take it to your local gunsmith with a good rep. and have it put in it will cost you a lot less than you think and it will be safer. Have him set it to about 3lbs pull for hunting. I do hundreds of trigger jobs and the new rem. trigger is junk. Bobby

they say that the other adjustments are fixed, they are probably just loctitied over. you'd be surprised how easy it is to take the remington trigger assy apart and stone the surfaces andclean it up nice. at the very least take a look, i'd bet that the other adjustments are just sealed over.
granted you can get a good trigger for about 80-100 bucks, just the same, why spend it if you don't have too.

Yes, you could take that trigger and fix it up some but it is a differnt design and operates differently for the safety and in my thinking can't be fine tuned like the older stock trigger or the aftermarkets and a fine trigger will improve your shooting as much as any thing else. You can take a pig and give it a bath and dress it up some but in the you still have a pig. lol Bobby

Big Dan, Bobby is pretty much on the money.

The response from Brownell's:

Terry,
No, there is not a rebuild kit available and if you damage any of the components they will not be available from the factory. I would recommend an aftermarket trigger and a Rifle Basix replacement safety assembly due to the fact that the new trigger also uses a different safety that is not compatible with the aftermarket triggers. I hope this helps and thank you for the enquiry.

Based on Mark's statement, and several remcommendations, I ordered a Timney. I was going to install it myself, as I've cleaned up a couple of Remington triggers without any disasters. The worst part, I'll probably wind up putting them on all my 700's :)
