Would someone please let me know if this kit is a good value? A local guy sent this list to me via email. It is very difficult to read because the guy used cap lock and no punctuation :(. I believe he is asking $225.

It may be unused but it ain't new. The Spar-T press is obsolete, it's been out of production for maybe 20 years. It's ok but not in the same league as newer presses with compound toggle linkage (I got mine in '65, it has sit under my bench since '90.)
Lyman is due to print their #49 manual this year.
The dies have value only IF they are cartridges you actually plan to reload and, considering the age of the other parts, I doubt they are carbide dies.
I agree that he doesn't know the value of his very old "kit". It's good enough stuff, especially the trimmer, scale and measure, but I think he's over priced it all by maybe $80 to $100. The smaller items are fine, but they are triffles. If he will take a reasonable offer, good. Otherwise, buy all new stuff and get a greatly improved press and much better carbide dies.

My suggestion is if your looking for a complete reloading kit for a reasonable price go to Midway and get a Lee kit. It comes with everything you need to reload for around a hundred bucks and it makes great accurate ammo, well at least mine has for lots of years now. Like Ranger said this is old equipment and unless you could get into it for a lot less than that I'd take a pass.
Here's what's on my bench. One of Lee's single station presses that loads everything from the 204 Ruger to the 300 Ultra-mag and an old Lee turret press I use for handgun loading.

If you can talk him down to $125-$150 its a good deal, otherwise the Lee kit is very competitive.

You can get a new Rock Chucker kit from Midway's for around $270. Only $45 difference. The Lyman Crusher II is about the same price as RCBS.
