After quite a few years away, current (and future) prices are driving me back to reloading (OK, and it was enjoyable). I'm looking at the Lyman T-Mag 2 press, but but cannot find much about Lyman or this press in several forums. Is there some reason I should not consider the T-Mag? All opinions valued. Thanks for the help.

Basically all the presses on the market do a good job of making accurate ammo. Be it Lyman, Lee, RCBS, Redding or Hornedy. Just pick the one with the features you like. I've used most of the presses on the market and there's not one whit of difference in the accuracy of the loads I've turned out.

I personally like Lee's turret presses as the ten buck turrets are inexpensive and I can keep several die sets all set up ready to simply pop in. That's much less expensive than most folks turret heads. I also have a single stage press on the bench. You'd be surprised how often both get used.

There are two turret presses that do a good job of handling spent primers: the Lee Classic Turret, and the Redding T7. Both direct the spent primer through the hollow ram, into a hose to a container. The rest have some sort of catcher bowl around the base of the ram that manages to miss a good percentage of the little buggers.

For the reasons stated above plus you will get a much "handier to use" and less expensive press, I vote Lee Classic Turret. My very old 3-hole Lee is by far the "most used" press of the nine I own.

My RCBS Turret Press doesn't miss any primers and the turrets are only $18. I like having 6 stations available on the RCBS and it comes with a very nice priming assembly that you don't even get with any other brand of turret press, you have to handle primers individually with every other brand.

I agree that the press qualities are pretty similar across the board, but the features are the way to shop. Natchez Shooters Supply has the best prices on presses. www.natchezss.com (http://www.natchezss.com)

As far as customer service goes, you won't get better service from anybody than from RCBS.

My thanks to faucettb, BigJakej1s, Blackhawk44, and Mattsbox99 for the information you shared. After a lot of cogitation I've decided to switch over to the RCBS Turret Press. I do like their priming setup and the six-hole turret. Thanks again for the guidance. I've done no reloading for almost thirty years and it's nice to know that when things start to go haywire assistance is available.
