Savage M99 is coming back with in a year ,first cambered in 308 Cal, and then in some wildcats and cal that customers want to buy. Let Savage know what you want from handgun cal's to rifle , to shotgun cal's or specials like 45 -70/ 410 with the rifling in the last part of the barrel, or S&W 500,460 camber in M99 so one can carry a carbine and handgun in the same Cal's

Just wondering what your source is? There's nothing on the news part of Savage'sf website about re-introduction of the 99. Seems they would be announcing that kind of a move.

Thanks, I'll take a look. It'll be interesting to see what kind of pricing will be on those if they are re-introduced.

Here's the post I ran down. So far this is just a rumor so we'll see.

Wow, I was just going to post some new information on this topic on a new thread, then I saw this! While I was at the Billy Dixon event in CO, I was able to spend time with Mic McPherson who has close ties to Savage. I asked him about the rumor of a new '99, and he indicated that it should be out at the next SHOT SHOW! It will have the rotary magazine but it is hard to forsee what the initial caliber offerings will be. He did indicate that the 284 Win would eventually be one of them, as well as some wildcats built on the 284 case in 35 and maybe even 416 caliber! A likely choice for initial offering will be 308 Win. but we will have to wait and see. I thought you guys would want to know.

I seriously doubt we see the 99 brought back. It's too expensive to manufacture, and given the state of the economy, probably too expensive for the average shooter. Kind of like the new Ithaca Model 37's. Nice guns, but who is going to pay $1000 for a gun that used to be lower priced than the Remingtons and Winchesters?

I see the 99 being in the $1200 - $1500 range.
