My 53-year-old eyes can't shoot open sights anymore, but I like shooting my little Rossi 67 .357 magnum lever action at steel silhouettes for fun. So far, my solution has been to fit a side mount [a friend drilled and tapped the action for me], and I used the only spare scope I had lying around, a VXIII 4.5-14 Leupold. [COLOR="black"]WELL!!, when I can see to shoot, this little rifle shoots very well indeed. Unfortunately, the Rossi is a top-eject gun and the side mount puts the scope in the way of spent shells. I'm trying to find some ideas on forward-mounts [scout-rifle style] that work for the Rossi. Any ideas out there?
