I just saved a .308 from a pawn shop. I need to clean the mech. and strip the nasty camo paint off. I have googled for a break down on this gun but cannot find any thing. I can get the forearm off but do not see how to remove the stock.
It is 1982 81 Blr and it grouped 4 tight at 40 yards this morning before the cheep Russian 140g failed to extract. I dropped a small length of brass rod down the barrel to pop it out. The neck looked nasty and I want to break it down to clean everything including the throat.'
If anyone can spell it out or show me where to look I would appreciate it!
Thanks

Here is a schematic from Brownell's. Your rifle has a stock bolt holding the stock to the action. You need to remove the butt pad and then you need a long screw driver.

I don't know why i didn't think of there!
Man that stock hole is big enough for a sleeping bag.
