Any input as to which bullet I should use on Cape Buffalo in a .416 Rigby?
I am thinking about either the Barnes solid or the A Square monolithic solid. Both are 400 grain. I was leaning toward the A Square because I can use their dead tough 400 grain for my first shot and it is supposed to have the same point of impact as the monolith.
I really was planning to use the Speer African Grand Slam tungsten solid but I think they are discontinued.
Thanks,

kudu40,
either one will be suitable. to that you could add hornady, woodleigh, nosler, etc. find the one that shoots best in your rifle
look on cheaper than dirt for the Speer AGS. last time i was on there they had the AGS soft in 416.
i've used them on a few buffalo, swear by them and think they outperform an X-bullet IMO. also think the tungsten solid is the finest solid ever made, though they're hard to find these days. for everyone who has a favorite, some body else has a different favorite so there it is. try ebay,or a phone call to old western scrounger or huntington's.
no experience with the dead tough.

I can verify that the swift a frame is one great tough bullet. Do not use regular hornady, speer or the typical bullet. I shot buff with North forks, but they are now out out of business, i will go to the swift, they hold together. My PH recommended the swift a ffame
