I'm a school-trained armorer on one semiautomatic pistol, and I've putzed around with guns a bit. That is to say that, given a Marlin and a set of tools, I would probably screw something up. Given a Marlin, a set of tools and a book whose title might well be "gunsmithing the Marlin leverguns", I would probably get it right. Question: anybody know where I can get the book???

Go to marauder13.homestead.com/irons.html
Also, McPherson has a book out titled Accurizing the Factory Rifle that covers lerver action very well.

Joe, they're fairly simple, at least the 336 and variants. I don't think that you would have much trouble.

I knew a guy who got one apart and back together, and he wasn't much help for most things that were more complicated than screwing in a light bulb.
