I busted a 30 cal decapping rod, the kind you use with a mallet, and sent it to Lee. They replaced it free of charge.

Way to go Lee - I continue to get no nonsense good service from them. :D

That's the type of experience I've had with them. RCBS too.

NAW man! All the web 'experts' know that only happens with green or blue box stuff! ;)

Many folks on this forum and others really trash talk the Lee products in general. I'm not one of them. For the most part (their powder measure doesn't thrill me) I think their products are excellent. I actually prefer the Lee carbide pistol die sets over the competition. I think their universal expander die is a neat and very versatile product. I did have to return one six cavity mold which cast undersize bullets. Lee replaced it, no questions asked. Actually those six cavity molds are one of my favorite Lee products. They cast beautiful bullets, do so in a hurry, and are very reasonably priced. Lee also has a nice website at leeprecision.com

I've had good luck with them also , I broke the alumium linkage on my sigle stage and the gal said send it back and they would replace it. I told her it wasn't worth the hassle to package and ship it back so she just sent a new set instead

I have used an old Lyman Spartan press for years then upgraded about ten years ago to an RCBS Rock chucker.....decided that I just was spending too much time batch loading and started looking for a faster press. A Dillion progressive was out of the question unless I also intended on trading in the wife so I looked at turret presses. My first thought was to go with RCBS since I had such great luck with the Rockchucker. But I happened to read a review of the new iron Lee Classic turret press with four station turrets. As Herter's used to say, I "ordered one out". I have been loading my pistol ammo with it for a couple of years and just love the thing. I find that my press works better with Lee dies than with my RCBS and other brands (even with the extension kit) and I have been very happy with the powder thru dies, factory crimp dies and powder metering setup. I have not been real happy with the short life of my auto indexer but the replacement costs less than ten bucks. Overall, I am very happy.

I always look to Lee first when looking for reloading products.

Those molds are all lathe bored. That makes it possible for a setup error to get you the wrong diameter (not common), but boy are they ever perfectly round and center line parted.

Lee is a thinking mans tool and reloading requires some brain grease. IMO that's required no matter the brand name.

I've used Herters, Lymans, and Lee. I have friends who load with the blue and green. All of it works and they ALL have issues. My Loadmaster required more set up time and tweaking than other progressives BUT the ammo it pumps out is QUALITY and accurate. My old style Lee turret taught me an important lessons. If you feel the slightest binding STOP and correct the problem. Lee love this approach because I stopped pestering them for replacement parts which they never hesitated to send. Indeed twice they ask me to send in the auto index parts to inspect and replaced for FREE even though it was my fault.

Lee is for those of us on a budget and take the time to read the instructions and are willing to understand how it works.

have been using RCBS for over 50 years...started at my Daddy's knee, he had RCBS, and when the time came for me to get my own, didn't look at anything else.....never been sorry, not even once, nothing has ever broke, or even bent, it just keeps working....have three presses, and lots of other equipment, and love it all....I do like the Redding dies better than RCBS, I think they are a bit higher quality.......

and before somebody jumps on me, I'm NOT dissin' anybody else's stuff, I just prefer RCBS......

Lee came through for a lot of people on this forum with the .32 NAA dies. They even referred inquiries about them to me.

I think they are my company of choice when it comes to most reloading equipment, based on their people and price.

I have a lee auto prime that is more than 20 years old. The lever broke and they sent me a new on the other week, no cost. Outstanding company just like Dillon.

You could run a Lee die under your truck and spin on it'''''''''tell them what you did and they would replace it without question. As American company's go the people at Lee are top shelf

I got a set of 22-250 dies from Lee and the shellholder was stamped wrong, emailed them and had a new shellholder in the mail in 4 days. Excellent customer service.

Was it the wrong shell holder or was it really stamped wrong?

Did you buy direct from Lee? Because I'd be willing to buy some dies direct from them that I can't find anywhere else. I wish that this true for primer makers as well.

It was stamped #2 but fit a 204 Ruger which is #4. Minor mistake and they took care of it immediately.

I get to test the system again. I already broke the replacement part Lee sent me. The pin broke off when I was decapping some 30-06 brass.

I use mostly nothing but Lee and the only problems I have had were my own mistakes. But I don't like their safety powder scale and sold mine. It's not a bad scale but just a little finicky. I bought a Lyman D-7 off Ebay several years ago and love it. I also have a Hornady Powder Trickler only because Lee does not produce one. All of my dies and presses are Lee. Challenger and handpress. The handpress is a great handloading tool. You can buy directly from Lee but you will pay a little more. If you can find it from someone else like Midway you will save a few bucks.
