UNCLENICK: When in earlier response you said ' let the die parts soak for three days in Sprinco's', did you mean fully immersed, or can they be thoroughly sprayed and then let sit for 3 days? Also, did you use the Sprinco Plate+ Green before you applied the Plate+ Silver? Thanks.

I have the Green so I usually do a quick wipe-down with it to be sure it wets everything and my degreasing has missed nothing. I have always used glass cylinders and other containers to achieve total immersion. If you kept an object wet by repeated application it would work also, but more slowly. Use the e-mail link and ask Alan what the timing gets to be like when done that way? Might take a couple of weeks, I suppose, instead of two to three days.
By the way, this lube only bonds to iron alloys, such as conventional and stainless steel. It does not bond to aluminum, so don't bother soaking aluminum parts in it. For aluminum I use a Shooter's Solutions product called Moly-Fusion (http://shooterssolutions.com/molyfusion1.html). Moly-Fusion also works on steel, though it takes a little more effort and practice to apply than Plate+ and it doesn't have quite as low a coefficient of friction. It does, however, add some corrosion resistance and makes the surfaces kind of waxy feeling. It's a good product, but soaking is just easier. I treated all the parts of my Lee hand press with the Moly-Fusion product and it just falls open now and is silky smooth. When I screw a die in it feels smooth like lubricated steel instead of grabby as it did originally.
If you are experimentally minded, I encourage you to try both technologies and see what suits you better?

Thanks for the info. I ordered the both the Sprinco Plate + Green and Silver in 8 ounce bottles, and I intend to use it on the new Lee Seating, Factory Crimp, Pacesetter and Collet dies I got yesterday. The 8 oz. should be enough to have them completely immersed in a small container. Will let you know know how it works.

Cool. I like the stuff and also his Machine Gun Lube, which works well in the 1911's.
