View Full Version : Only shade around
Imagine that you are a South African bush pilot. You fly in some critical medical supplies, enjoy a quick lunch at the hospital. It's a stifling 100 degrees in the shade and you're eager to get back up to the cool, high blue yonder.
On the way back to your plane, you discover that the only bit of shade, with in a mile, has become very popular..............
You start calculating the distance to the plane door...... and wonder, "do I feel lucky today?"

Talk about airport security

Jack
I've a friend who related a similar situation. He learned of this as a boy, while his parents lived a couple of years in Ethiopia.
The manager of a small airstrip in the wild, had a pet lion, that liked to nap on the runway, as the asphalt attracted heat. Pilots were always complaining about the lion being in the way. One day a pilot landed and nearly turned his small plane over trying to avoid the lion sleeping on the runway. He promptly left the plane, walked up behind the lion, and kicked it between it's rear legs. The lion let out a terrible roar, and disappeared into the bush. The pilot then stomped into the manager's office cursing, and told the manager that he had better keep his lion tied up. The manager protested his innocence and showed the pilot that his pet lion was right there in his office. The pilot had just kicked a wild lion!

Darrel,
That's great, enjoyed it immensely!

Wonder who was the most surprised, the wild lion or the pilot!!
