What supplies do I need to skin raccoons, foxes, and coyotes? This is to sell fur. I want to make it as cheap as possible. Thanks!:)

I use a Case Trapper knife.
I have made up several small wooden yokes to hold the hind legs apart. Nails in a tree will work.
Some like stretchers for the hides but I don’t use them – I freeze mine.

We cannot sell hides here in West Texas today; there is no one to buy.

Go to Google books and do a search for trapping books. There are several on Google books that I have downloaded already.

Look for Nessmuk.

Look also for the Outers Books. A search using that phrase will bring up several Outers camping books. Well worth looking at.

There is a number of trapping magazine on Google books too and they are very interesting.

A deep-freezer and plastic bags. I used to work my tail off fleshing hides and streaching and drying them. Didn't pay any more than when fur was sold on the hoof. Some buyers will flat tell you they don't want streached hides. Best check with your local fur buyer before getting in too deep.

See if your local magazine counter carries Fur-Fish-Game... they always have a couple trapping articles and lots of fur related ads, including some good books.
