I am hoping someone can point me in the direction of take down instructions for this Stevens lever gun. I recently got a well used gun and would like to strip it down for cleaning and lubing. Oh, and also can some one tell me where I might find a picture of the front sight? It's missing on my rifle. Thanks. Emery

IIRC, they take down much the same as a Marlin.

The issue front sight is a German silver blade.

Ranger, thanks much for that info. I was thinking it shouldn't be that hard to figure out, don't need to take it down completely. Is the front sight similar to the Rocky Mtn. shape?

I can't say that I ever had mine apart. They're a pretty rare piece, and reputedly not strong. Mine was in 32 Remington and had what appeared to be a perfect bore. I did slug it, but found it really tight with loose spots. Some collector in Mi talked me out of it, so away it went.
