My ruger rifle has a factory adjustable trigger, but I am not sure on the proceedure for making the adjustments. Can some one help with advise or direct me to a good source of info. Thanks

Can you tell us which model of Ruger this is? M77, M77 MK I, M77 MKII???

The old M77's had three screws on the trigger and where user adjustable. The newer ones with the 2 screws, as far as I can tell, can't be adjusted by the screws. I don't think they do anything.

If it is a newer the best way to adjust it is to get a new trigger system. Several manufacturers make after market triggers for the Ruger, just like they do for Remington or Winchester. Some are really expensive, others aren't too bad. I believe Moyers makes an relatively inexpensive replacement trigger that would probably cost less to put in than have a gunsmith to rework the original. Timney makes a nice trigger, but are a bit more expensive. I'm not sure if Jewell makes a trigger for the M77, but these are really considered to be the "cream of the crop". I put a Klepplinger in one of my Ruger No.1's and it is a fine trigger, but a bit overpriced for a hunting trigger, I think. If I do that again, I'll go with a Moyer.

Someone else here may have a different take on this.

Try www.varmithunters.com and look there for directions on that trigger. Bobby

Your ruger has a lock screw on top of the adjusting screw. Take care and have fun. Swany
