Looking for some opinions on which rifle is better. Have decided on caliber (7 mm Remington) but unsure as to which rifle. Both fit about the same so I was just looking for feedback from anyone who owns one of these rifles. I notice a lot of guys are using the Tikka which I believe is a good choice, but what about the Weatherby?

The Tikka is the better rifle--without question.

Hey There
I guess from the name you can figure what my choice is.
I have had a Vanguard in 7 Mag or a Howa which is who makes them, don't get them confused with a real Weatherby Mk 5 they are not even close,I now have a 7mag in a Tikka and I wouldn't go back,it's nicer to shoot recoil is less and it will shoot 3 shots in a quarter size group right out of the box.
But on to your question the Howas(Vanguards) I have seen are accurate, I have built one for a buddy of mine also a .223 varmint. But hands down the Tikka is high and above a better rifle, they use a Sako barrel, the actions are smooth as silk and have to do a group under 1" before they ship.
Do yourself a favor and go with a Tikka.

Nothing wrong with the Weatherby, it's just that the Tikka is better.

Tikkabuck,
You answered one of the concerns I had with the Tikka as far as recoil. I wasn't sure how much more felt recoil there would be with it as it is a lighter rifle. How do the plastic clips hold up in the cold weather? It can get cold here in Alberta, especially in Novembr during the rut. This year it hit about -9 F (-23 C), luckily this is not the norm usually temps run from around 32 F to about 23 F.

Hey Fergie
Back here the lowest we have gotten here lately is around 10f,I haven't had any trouble with any of my Tikka mags, but you are alot colder up there for sure.I have a buddy up in B.C. and he hasn't said anything about a problem with his.
One thing about recoil, both mine were wood stocks and when shooting the Vanguard 4 or 5 shots and my head would be hurtin for sure, with my Tikka I don't have that problem but the T-3 lite is a little bit lighter so your gonna get bit a little more I would imgain.
