I am new to reloading this caliber and looking for advice. I want to load 300 gr JHP for deer and 405gr lead for practice/fun. The 405 I would like light loads (Cowboy) and the 300 enough to get the job done but am not looking to push the envelope, not real hot. Gun is Marlin Guide gun. My load manual lists 2400 and since I already use this for other rounds I would like to use this. Is this a good choice or are there much better powders I should start with?
