OK, it has been another year and my eye doc once again has pointed out how farsighted I am and how things are getting worse. I knew that before the exam! The factory sights on my Guide Gun have all but disappeared. I was thinking of the Williams Fire Sights and actually found a pretty good buy on the web. Can't find that site again. Anybody have a suggestion on where to buy the Fire Sights or other alternatives for old eyes? Thanks, Ed
The best ghost ring sites that I have seen/used is from XS sight systems (www.xssights.com) I got them on the marlin 1895m. Love um.

I'm a big fan of the WGRS or Williams guide receiver sight. You can buy these at http://www.midwayusa.com/ or http://www.natchezss.com/ they are less then $40. This sight uses the existing holes on the Marlin, is compact and light weight. Adjustments are trial and error, but once set seem to stay set.
Big Ed,
I also have "old" eyes. I purchased a Williams firesight with a ghost ring and it made sighting worse. I have not gone to a scout scope or holoscope/red dot but I think that's the only answer. The other answer is to wear reading glasses, I will be able to see the sights but the target will be blurry. The only thing that ultimately is going to work is some kind of scope system.
Good luck,

Big Ed...
No matter how distasteful to some, a scope will take care of you in no time! ;)
Just get a QD mount system so you can use the irons when you feel the need to get frustrated again ! ! ! :D :D :D

Big Ed;
On the web search for Natchez. They've got a hard copy catalog as big as Sears. Wellll, maybe not. But it's as big as Cabellas'. Every thing a shooter could want. I've been fightin the vision problem a long time. Good luck. Pepe Ray

Well I put a fire site on for awhile then finally broke down and installed a weaver 2X 20 .
This seems to be the best set up going . When a snap shot presented itself last fall the deer hit the freezer very quickly.
These old eyeswere on target instantly.
Happy :D
