I just got a Ruger 96/44 for close range pig hunting, use as a motorbike gun etc. I was wondering what was the general opinion of these rifles. It seems pretty tight to me, nice short throw etc. I've put a 1.5 to 4.5 Bushnell on it. Does anyone make an extended mag. Haven't been able to find one on the net. A couple more shots would be handy.

Well, i used one the first two years as my deer rifle. I dont like it. The handling to me just isnt up to par. The feeding doesnt seem to work the best either. I did use a prototype with mags that were modified 77/44 mags, so that may have been the reason for the feeding problems. I dont really like the hardwood stock either. The one that i used did have a nice looking tiger striped hardwood stock on it that was actually fairly attractive.
