I recently purchased a new Marlin 1894C in 38/357 and rather than install new iron sights, I decided to mount a scope instead. I know the receiver is pre-drilled to accept a mount. I would like to know your recommendations on what mounts seem to work best.

TIA
Tim

The Weaver base, 63B, is both cheap and handy, as it does not block access to the factory iron sights when the scope is off.

If you feel like taking the scope off, Weaver-style rings will return to zero if you put them back on the same way each time.

Tim,

I've got one rifle set up with Conetrol bases and rings, another with a Pachmeyer Lo-Swing (now discontinued), and a third with Millett bases and rings. This runs the range from about $100 to about $30.....they all work.
