I have quite a bit of experience with M70's, M700's, 550 Magnums, and M77's. I have some experience with big single shots, and Merkel over-under double rifles. Does anyone own a CZ550 in 9.3x62 and what do they think of it? I would like to have one with sights and I will put a fiberglass stock on it and set it up for Africa.
Also anyone work with the 9.3x64 Brenneke, 9.3x66 Sako, or 9.3x70?

The late African Hunter/Poacher John Taylor thought very highly of the 9.3x62mm for all but the really thick-skinned stuff.

The CZ 550 is a solid and accurate rifle--at least the ones that I own. They initially are not smooth initially, but get better with use/polishing. I own one in 9.3x62 and like the gun. I also a CZ 550 in 7x64 and and 416 Rigby.
I have a 9.3x64 and like it. The drawbacks are no factory ammo readily avaialble. RWS ammo is difficult to obtain and I believe A Square makes it too. Huntington imports cases for it and some of the boutique sort of loading places will load it. It is not a really good choice in the current situation for a non reloader and I believe the brass is rather costly.

I have a CZ 550 in 9.3X62. It is an excellent rifle with good fit and finish. You will really like the set trigger.

I've got a old mod. 46 Husky in a 9.3X57 ,its ready to be picked up at the gunsmiths, had the bolt bent low and a lowmount safety installed,It should throw out a Speer 270 gr. at about 2250fps. ,i started to get a CZ in a 9,3X62 but I've got a 375 H&H and don't need that much power.
A 9.3 Brennke is a 375 H&H equal.And a .366 270gr. bullet has better SD than a 270gr. 375 bullet!

i have had great results with the 9.3 brenneke cartridge. built on a cz 550 action with a 26" #4 douglas premium barrel. velocities of 2650 are easily achieved with several different bullets, both solid and soft. accuracy is outstanding, case life also excellent! and the performance on game is everything you would expect from the velocity, sectional density combination this cartridge provides. my 338 win. mag. hasen't been out of the safe since!
montana rifleworks offers barreled actions and the newer mauser rifles are also chambered for it.
if you are a reloader, don't hesitate!
components avail. from huntingtons, nosler, woodleigh, swift and many others

That is the Second best gun ever - the best is the original Bruno ZKK 602 or 601 - which is the daddy of the CZ550.
You gant make a mistake with either the rifle or the calibre....
