I've got to thank Wharf and his mates for an excellent comp.
Because of the current crazy restrictions at our range I haven't done signifcant amounts of centrefire target shooting for a while so it was great to play.
Moreover, a mate who has only fired his M96 Swede 6.5x55 sporter once before got to pump some rounds through it and really enjoy himself.
You're right about the 45-70.......it was a blast!

I don't know about a woody though, it isn't exactly an intimate experience.
Anyone in the local region knew when I pulled the trigger.

After shooting a Marlin 1895 45-70 I decided I need to start the build on my custom Martini Henry 45-70.
I also spoke to a guy from Wharf's club who sells dangerous game rifles, Woodleigh projectiles, hunts water buff regularly and has spent time in Africa hunting Cape Buffalo.
He gave me a lot of advice in terms of using a 45-70 on buffalo which was excellent.
As such I'll be loading it with the Woodleigh 550gn RNSN and 550gn FMJ when it comes time to give Bob the Buffalo lead poisoning.
