The Frontiersman by Allen Eckert. You'll enjoy it. I did.

Good book. I believe Eckert wrote several books about the frontier.

I know this is an old post but glad I found it . I read That Dark and Bloody River by Eckart and thought it was excellent. I have been looking for something new for my Nook.

Both were part of a trilogy I believe....and darned if I can remember the 3rd.
