accurate molds

i have been looking to get a custom mold cut for a while and think i am getting close to doing it was wondering if anybody has any comments or experance with them they are in salt lake city and i am in the area i would much rather use a local guy and keep the money in utah than a guy in a town i have never heard of if the quality is equal the bullet i am thinking of is a .455 as cast 375 gr wfngc i want to use these in 45 colt 454 casull and 460 s&w i allready have 260 305 and 330 gr gas check molds so this is the next step up i think 375 is the heaviest practial weight for the 45 colt thanks for any replys and your time

Have no idea if there's any mold makers in Utah. There's not many mold makers in the US and there's even fewer really accurate mold makers.
Mountain Molds has done some really fine work for me.

Sorry about that.

Accurate has a good rep over at Cast Boolits. Me, I would go with Veral Smith at Lead Bullets Technology. Can't lose either way.

I think I read Veral Smith is no longer doing custom designs. Just what he already catalogs shapes for (which he will still custom adjust for alloy and as-cast diameter). I'm not familiar with Accurate Molds.

mjyeagle,
I have 3 Accurate Molds and they are top notch.
I designed 2 of them... emailed the sketches and Tom and he emailed back a formal drawing. I then ordered the molds.

On the order form an as cast diameter is required along with the alloy.
Tolerance on the bullet diameter is -.000 + .0015 and all three molds were within spec.

The few things that Tom can't do are molds that have a round nose (.18" flat minimum) and bullets less than .30 caliber.

+1 for Tom @ Accurate molds!!!!!

Sent him a picture of what type of bullet I wanted and he is going to produce it for me. He also added it to his catalog (46-400L). It's an LBT style 400gr LFNGC design. Payment is going out fo it today.

You may want to take a stroll over to the cast boolit web site. Lot's of good info.

Tom

I wanted a bullet a little over size for my Trapdoor.I sent Tom an email late saturday with a link to a drawing of what I had in mind but a little bigger. Monday he told me he cataloged that design.
I ordered on Monday & it was shiped on Tuesday.
Now I am waiting for some custom oversized expander plugs & sizer dies to go shoot it .

I should also mention that his machining is great , the alignment pins on his molds are the smoothest closing that I have ever used.

Accurate Molds

Tom does a first rate job. Night Owl Enterprise's in Provo does too. Your lucky having two of the best so close together.

white eagle has bought and sold and uses more accuratemolds than most people have molds all together so he knows what he is talking about. I have 3 of his and I'm working on adding to the bunch. His customer service is way above what most would consider good
