Info needed for casting for the .270 Winchester.

I've cast my own bullets for pistol for 30 years but have never cast for a high powered rifle.
But lately I've had the hankering for casting for my .270 Win. AND my 7mm Rem Mag.. I know of course that I can't achieve the fps with cast bullets that I can with jacketed but I thought I'd have some fun.
I would appreciate any info on casting for these two calibers i.e. bullet mold, powder & powder charge, primers used, velocities etc.. Thanks!

I have cast many bullets for my .270 Winchester, using the Lee 130 RN mould, with gas check. I have generally loaded these with Unique and get around 1500-1600 fps with them, as well as good accuracy. I use these a lot to practice, such as standing and kneeling. I am fortunate, in that one complete revolution of my scope dial switches between my cast load and jacketed hunting load.

The easiest way to start out with is to use straight wheel weighs, (not pure lead) I'm pretty sure I've shot these to over 1800 fps, but if you want higher velocities you will need to find a source of tin and mix it in to make them harder. Also, when casting drop the bullets in a bucket of cold water, or better yet, half a bucket of water left outside overnight and top it off with snow. Gives'em a quick chill
