The few zinc along with the steel wheel weights I run across while smelting, I toss so sorry I can't help you out. I think most of the other casters here do the same. Suggest you try contacting some metals salvagers in your area.

PENNIES are made of zinc (I think anyway) but you'd have to use something to strip off the copper plating, I suppose. Some strong acid, maybe?

Pennies have had zinc cores for thirty years now. You can tell the quality of the newer ones too..........
