Would think so apart from the grenade launcher on the end just another SKS. Personally I see nothing wrong with using the stripper clips. Very fast and reliable. If you want high Cap buy an AK variant.

Case82,
I believe the SKS actions are pretty much the same design no matter the country they were produced in. Mine is a Chinese made Norinco. I have bought several metal after-market magazines and have yet to find one that fits or functions properly without having to do some filing and bending to get them to work. Out of four, I have one-a 20 rounder-that works fairly good. So be prepared if you buy one that you may have to do some work on it. I have never tried the polymer-plastic- styles. Anybody have experience with these?

It will work fine, but you might have to modify your stock for some of the aftermarket mags to fit your rifle.

Converting the rifle to hold more than 10 rounds violates the 922 section of the ATFE federal firearms rules and regulations. The rifle is allowed to be imported in light of it being a C&R and having a fixed 10 round magazine. Altering it to hold more than 10 rounds and have a detachable magazine puts you in violation of 922 (the import ban) and can land you big fines and jail time if you are caught and convicted. Stripper clips work very fast, are more reliable than most of those extended capacity mags, and will not put you in violation of 922. Be smart and don't temp fate, leave it as it came from the dealer.

Actually stripper clips are superior in a combat rifle of this type. With practice, charging the magazine actually takes less time than changing one and absent a human wave assault you should not need 20 rounds anyway. In most infantry situations you are better equipped with a good SKS than with an AK. (that will get some comments) but the fact is that the SKS is a better combination for overall infantry combat than the AK Assault rifle. Easy to use, nearly fool proof, natural pointer and reasonably accurate. The guy that makes the accurate shot is often the winner.

Don't agree with mtmrolla on SKS being better than an AK, but I do love both. And don't write off using stripper clips on the SKS. I have found them very fast and very easy to use ( something which many stripper clips arn't). Only negative is you have to run dry to use them and can't easily top up an SKS with single rounds. don't see that as a big one.

I have had magazine feed SKS in the past and found the mag change very slow and tricky myself. AK is better for detacables mags but stripper clips for the SKS. Sold them both.

I bought one of the 15 rounders for mine, and I absolutely HATE it. It jams, never feeds right, and it is generally the worst thing I have spent money on for the SKS. Went back to the original metal mag, and it works flawlessly. IMO...stick with the stock parts, and get used to the strippers......er.....stripper clips! They rock!
