Looks like some candidates for thanksgiving dinner, Chief! (the turkeys not the coons; had to put that in there before someone made a smart comment). Do you have a fall turkey season?

I love seeing everyones animal pictures.
I'm up at the ranch right now checking my cameras, cussing the cows for tearing up my fences, and working up some loads for my new 7mm mag
Looks like you have some picked out already!
Good Luck

Hadn't considered it to be honest. I figured Tom would jump in on this thread pretty quick as he knows of my love for coons The coons generally look pretty bad after impact with a 6mm, .35 Rem, .250 Savage, or whatever else I have at hand. Even the .45 Colt tears them up pretty good
Let me know how the baked coon / sweet 'tater Thanksgiving goes...

No fall turkey season here Mike. I have never had any on my place in the spring. Hard to hunt turkeys on 18 acres. Now deer is a different story. The only reason the turkeys are there now is they are eating my seed I put out weekend before last.

Chief, looks like you have a well equipped 18 acres. I have seen some nice deer killed off of some small plots of land.

I think you need a crop depredation permit to protect your crops from those turkeys!!!!
Good luck talking the state into that.....

Now there is an idea, if I could find anybody left working at the DNR. Things are a little tight money wise here these days.

Yup, my dad says that he's been seeing some activity around his game-cams, including a couple decent bucks.

Here is the hit parade from this week. Looks like the turkey are hanging around to finish off all the no plow mix I put out and the deer are keeping the rabbits off the bean plots until they sprout. I think the doe yearling and fawn will hang around till Sept 15. I may get a shot if I can play the wind and work load correctly.

This is the game cam for this week. I planted all the beans I had left and a fall mix. That will be all the prep for this year. It is time to hunt.

My co-worker's dad is a retired meatcutter who happens to enjoy using his horses, so the Forest Service hires him in the summertime to do trail maintainance on the Shoshone National Forest near Dubois, WY. The provide a camper and corrals near the trailhead and he rides the trails to make sure they are passible.
One of his grandkids bought him a trail cam for his birthday and so they attached it to a tree on a trail near his camp. Within a short time they had pictures of a grizzly mouthing the camera. Apparrently he didn't like his picture being taken in the dark.
I haven't seen the pictures, but from what I have been told, the inside of a grizzly's mouth is not all that attractive.

Here are some pics from this week. The beans and fall mix did sprout, even though we have had no rain. Just the moisture in the ground when I planted and any dew from last week was enough. The turkeys may get it all. They found the plot again the yesterday. It looks like the fawn is weined and the doe is putting on a little weight. I hope she is good and fat by the 15th. It will still be hit or miss with them showing up in shooting light and on a day I am there but it is the best shot I have.

The inside of a bears mouth would be a grizzly sight. Sorry

I went back out today and the camera had 13 pics on it overnight. I got my stand placed and took a pic of it with the trail cam in the lower right of the frame Stand in upper left. The pics of the turkeys and deer are from yesterday and this morning.

Notice another set of eyeballs in the background of the doe picture, Chief - coon, maybe?
