Daughter took a Black Bear

Daughter took this nice little 200# black bear late yesterday. Her boyfriend is a Registered Maine Guide and she's been hunting with him for a couple of years now, this was her first kill. She called me on her cell phone about 2 minutes after she shot it, couldn't hardly understand her!

Nothing like a success story. I know you are proud of your daughter. My daughter has only killed one deer with a rifle and about 10 with a car. She just likes eatin them.

Thumbs up

That's just awesome! I'd rather see a new hunter, especially a lady, have a successful hunt than anything else I can think of, personally. Last year my wife and daughter both got their first deer and my son is making noises like he might like to go, this season. God, family, and hunting...in that order.

Congrats to both of you! I happened to have enjoyed a pretty tasty bear roast just this past Saturday night in Bethel, Maine. Wasn't from a bear I'd taken, but still et good!

That's the plan! I'll let you know how it comes out. Her boyfriend (in the picture) is a Registered Maine Guide and a darn good cook, so I'm looking forward to it.
