This is a pic of an average Wyoming antelope I took with a Handi-Rifle in 444 Marlin and 250 gr. Beartooth bullets about a week ago. At about 75 yards the bullet whistled through both shoulders and the goat dropped at the shot.

That's a nice looking goat. I doubt you lost meat with that load.

If you have some good pics of you holding the critter, magazines love 'em. No blood or gore is always a bonus and many times they get printed while others are not.

Sorry, no pics of me holding the goat. I haven't yet figured out (or even tried to) how to use the timer on my camera. I most often hunt alone, so most of my pics are of the critters and the guilty firearm.

No bloodshot meat on the shoulder where the bullet entered, but some on the far side because of bone fragments. Not much though, not like a jacketed bullet with the same point of impact.

When member "tpv" gets the time, he's posting pic's of our successful NE New Mex. antelope hunt a few weeks ago. One nice goat and several average ones. Great time was had by all.
