Thanks guys. It was a great trip, they certainly weren' the biggest racks shot, but due to the moon and weather, no one turned down a shot at a good buck. There just weren't too many moving. I'd show a picture of the Elk but for some reason, the pic won't transfer.
I will say that out of 9 hunters, the 270's were the smallest calibers used. Just about everyone had ultra mags.
These deer will field dress around 200 lbs on average, and your shots will average under 200 yds, really no need for anything bigger.
One guy who had never shot a deer, got the biggest one. He also shot and missed another one the day before. His was a 184BC.
But with a cold, fever, sore throat, I thought I had better tag out.
