I was invited to hunt in South Texas. We went to 74 ranch resort. What an incredible place. The ranch takes up 3 counties and it is 42 sqaure miles large!!! 6 square miles of river bottom (not HF) and 36 sq miles (HF). The Lodge, accomodations and service was 5 star to say the least. In 4 sittings, I saw over 100 deer, 150 turkeys, a dozen javalina, hogs, coyotes.....I dont think that 5 minutes passed before animals showed up at every sitting. I managed a river bottom 9 point ( 178 lbs) , 2 javalinas and a doe, with my 7 mag, Federal 160 gr barnes TSX..all animals DRT. My buddy killed a bruiser 13 point, 2 javalinas and 2 does, 300 WSM, Federal 180gr Barnes TSX.

HF or no HF...the hunt was incredible....
