Just a thought! While some my feel that the velocity of the present 12 ga. 2 3/4" Dixie Talon's velocity is low.......let me say I could have pushed it up to 1400'/"......But, all the shooters that have tested it like that velocity/recoil/accuracy level. It is a proven fact that recoil and accuracy are related! When you are "hurling" a slug this size, within reasonable ranges, game will never tell a difference in velocity.....it will be dead! Also note the ballistics of the Talon matches very close those of the original .45-70-500 gr load. The midrange trajectory at 100 yards is only 1" difference in 1250'/" and 1400'/".......Run the .730"-563 gr slug at 1250'/" through Thornily (on the webpage) and compare.......James
