Are you running off of Internet Explorer? If you are highlight your text, click the file menu on older versions at the top left, and click copy. On the newer version, there will be some icons on the top right, one saying page (the other tools and some other icons). Click that and you will have the copy option there. I hope I made sense.

Internet explorer
I went to "customize toolbar" and added a copy button. That works.

I was using Times New Roman but I was left clicking my mouse (left handed mouse) and clicking on copy. I am trying the copy icon this time.
If necessary I will get used to saving in plain text but it will take time!

Or you could just use windows notepad to type your responses in. (start/programs/accessories/notepad or Start/Run, type notepad, click ok or just press enter) Then do your copy/paste.

Thanks for sorting things out, guys. I don't have Microsoft Word, so I can't figure out what that Gatesian Horror is doing.

Have you tryed a CTRL C, CTRL V copy and paste from Word to the forum?

Bye
Jack

I guess I am a kid compared to some of you guys. I am 34. I did work tech support for a call center for about 3 1/2 years and when I left to move back to the farm, I was on the Escalation Desk. Like Jack, I do not have Microsoft Office (cannot afford it) but I use Openoffice and I have to do the copy and paste and pass through notepad most of the time to get rid of the extra formatting. Seems like the more technologically advanced this stuff gets, the more headaches it causes.

Jack, Ctrl C & V does the same thing as the right click copy & paste except faster. I sure hope they don't program keyboard shortcuts out of the software because it will only make more headaches!

IBM cut productivity by 25% when they swapped the Caps Lock and CTRL keys and made the old WordStar diamond impossible for anyone with short fingers. DON'T tell Microsoft that you use keyboard shortcuts.
