Bench Rest Plans

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

Anyone have a set of plans for a portable benchrest. I would like to build one for varmint shooting.
Tried searching but can't seem to find any with measurements. I built one of these for my range with some modifcations but find it a little to cumbersome to move around. http://www.horstguns.com/ShootingBench.htm

mausernut,
Go back to page 6 in general discussion here and a member named jakeway has pictures of a portable rest he built using a fold-up sawhorse. Looks like a nice setup.
Look about halfway down the page.

The coolest thing I ever saw for a rodent shoot was a round platform that was suspended from a receiver hitch. Had a seat that swiveled around the center post and the whole thing worked kind of like the old Mad Hatter, or teacup midway rides where you revolved yourself or your seat by turning the "wheel" which was actually the shooter's platform. Perfect for prairie doggin'. Got you up so you could look over the sage too.

Thanks, the one on the sawhorse would be very simple and might even find a way to make it come apart all the way

Wow, great ideas. Kudos to Jakeway and Colorado Ray. I now know how I will be spending the first weekend of my retirement.
