Howdy

Thought my first post as a new guy should be to say hello to everyone and to thank you all in advance for sharing your knowledge and experience. Having said that, hello to everyone, and thank you all for sharing your knowledge and experience.

(OK, so he's borderline clever, but who is this guy?)

I'm a small family farmer in NC, former military, not exactly wealthy, so my tastes in firearms tend to be "utilitarian, functional tool" type guns. If I have to baby it, it ain't useful. Think SKS, H&R Pardner, S&W Model 10, 1911, etc. Got a pretty nice air rifle, though. RWS 48. Squirrels and Bunnies hate it. Probably pass it on to the kids one day. I'm also looking at black powder and reloading, and so far have done most of my own gunsmithing, limited to bolt-on parts. Been shooting since Cub Scouts in the 70s, but I'll never claim to be an expert on anything except my own opinions.

'preciate your time spent reading this, and have a good one.

Cheers, Y'all

Thanks for the welcomes and kind words, everyone. I don't want to leave the wrong impression, though. My military service did not include fighting on foreign soil, unless you count a bunch of REMF politics, but we did train and play hard.
Take care

Welcome to the forum. I truly enjoy talking to folks who use guns on a daily basis vs just owning them even though I own a lot more than I use regularly.
