do you guys think this is a good buy ? or should i just stick to the traditional cleaning rod and stuff like that.

I bought one of there kits years ago for use as a field cleaning kit. Due to its small size it's easy too carry in the field while hunting. If needed it would be there. Never had too use mine yet in that capacity. Once I plugged the barrel end with mud when I slipped on river bank but didn't have it with me so never got too use the kit. That was a very severe plug and doubt whether the flexible cable would have pushed through the plug had I had the kit. Walked back too my house and used a traditional cleaning rod with considerable effort too remove the blockage.

good reason to put a piece of electric tape over the muzzle.
My hunting kit has something similar made from a length of weed eater line. Looks like real heavy monofilament fishing line for catching whales. So far I have used it once to save a half mile hike back to the truck. For normal cleaning I prefer a traditional one piece cleaning rod.

Picked up a package of finger cots at Cabela's this last trip. They work similar to the GI's usage of prophalitics during WWII over Garand barrels.
