Gouged barrel
I have a Benelli Atlanta in .32 S&W Long Wadcutter. This is one of a pair of pistols that I recently purchased used (the other is the same pistol in .22LR).
I've just observed that the barrel is gouged - it could be that someone tried to remove an obstruction from the breech end and hit the side of the barrel, pushing up a little fin at the end of the gouge. The gouge is probable 1/2" to 3/4" from the muzzle.
What can be done about this (besides getting a new barrel). Is there a way to iron down the fin? I don't think the gouge can be repaired, but removing the little fin might help this little pistol shoot.
Thanks for any suggestions!
