Randy Garrett is getting out and has sold Garrett Cartridges to Ashley Emerson who will be doing business as Garrett Cartridges of Texas. Great product and better yet, he will be adding .45 Colt and .454 Casull. This is all good news and here is link to message from Randy Garrett and from Ashley Emerson.

Actually, it would make alot of sense to offer a 480 load of around 400-420 gr. soon.
Ruger just brought out the SRH in that offering again. It is just a matter of promotion, a couple of good articles, etc.
Silly marketing & lack of good ammo offerings is some of the reasons that the .480 did not take off, a shame since the round is a good one.

Actually there are good loads available for the .480, including Buffalo Bore's 410 grain load and Grizzly Cartridge's 425 grain load. I have a new .480 SRH that I received about three weeks ago and so far so good. It's proving accurate like the others I have had.

That is good to hear, still I would like to see Garrett add to the mix.

Whitworth, the silly ammo offering was in reference to the 325HP offered by Hornady with the gun intro, it's ok for Whitetails, but a heavy cast offering would have made more sense, even though Hornady is not into that

You are absolutely right. They did themselves a diservice launching a new revolver and caliber combination with such milquetoast ammo offerings.

My .480s have all been six-shots. Only 23 made it down the production line with five-shot cylinders and they were all Alaskans.
