Need info on NEF model R73 revolver

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

I have a chance to get a New England Firearms model R73 revolver chambered for .32 H&R Mag.

The gun is emaculate except for the grips which have been nicked up quite a bit. Otherwise Id say the blueing is 99%. Very clean and no evidence of being fired much at all.

Ive looked for information on this gun but have not found much at all. I found several listings on auctionarms and gunbroker and the price is definitely right.

Is there a website that might have reviews for this gun? Im not expecting a top quality revolver for the price Im paying just something that wont break on me.

Does anyone have one? Anything I should know about?

The NEF revolvers were about as basic as you can possibly get. Quality was ok and they seem to be generally reliable. The fit and finish were nothing to write home about, the ergonomics were pretty poor and the trigger pulls were atrocious. That said, they usually go bang when asked to and if that's all you care about it'll probably do ok. Don't pay much over $100 for it, the used ones I see around are usually in the $75 range around here.

I have one and I love it. Mine is stainless steel I believe. I have fired quite a few rounds through it and it is pretty consistant. It is a single action 5 shot revolver and ammo is relatively inexpensive. Hornady and Federal Cartridge make Mag rounds that work well. I just bought a 20 round box of FC 95 grain .32 H&R mag rounds and once I fire it I will let you know how they did. I paid $13 for the box. I was getting the Hornady 85 grain .32 H&R Mag rounds and they impressed me. For such a little revolver it is quite a nice gun. I would not compare it to a .50 cal S&W, but for the size and price it is a great hunting companion. I am planning to go to the range and shoot and see how well I can get it to group!!
Anyways for the price these go for they are worth it. Also, if you did encounter an intruder you can rest assured they will never forget it. I would not hesitate to use it to defend my home. Anyways good luck.

Edit: Here is a link to one just like mine http://www.gun-appraisals.com/index....&item_id=67530

I think I paid more for mine though, Maybe around $150. It was a while ago so I do not recall clearly.
