It's your choice!

You have the funding to buy ANY handgun you want. What handgun do you buy and why? What is the one gun you really want?

Glock 17.
I have owned almost every caliber under the sun. At this point I like SHOOTING, not tinkering for reliability, and not pretending that zombies are going to come. And don't get me started on the "heirloom" argument....

The G17 holds 20(+2), doesn't have sticks and flags and monkeys that stick out giving you indicators and indications of tactile things you should already known. That gun doesn't need hundreds of rounds fired to make it function properly, like some "high quality" brands. It doesn't require you to take a loan out, to purchase.
9mm is easy to load, it's cheap, it's available.

If I felt you were serious about the topics you start I would participate more. As it is, you neither join in the conversation nor answer questions posed to you. At this point I just consider you a troll and will move on.

Talking

I just acquired it in the last few months: A Bisley SBH(.44mag.) in SS and a 5.5in. barrel. Best balanced revolver I have ever handled. I just got it back from the gunsmith, he polished lightened the trigger(about 3lb.), now it just breaks like glass. I put it together with a Simplyrugged "Cattleman" crossdraw...handsome, functional rig. I have only put plinkers and "Skeeter" rounds thru it. Anticipate working up a deer load with a 15-18bnh WFN at about 1000fps.

cluznar,

I got a gas lease on my farm and have all the handguns I ever wanted. I won't list them because Big Brother may be reading...

It's your choice!

I would have to go with the Sig P210. I shot one that a friend has and it is one sweet pistol.
9mm and super accurate, I was able to punch out the bullseye at 25 yards. It is one dream of a gun and they have a "Legend target model" which is even better, that would be the one I'd want.

I can never make up my mind. Right now I'd like to find a FN Hi-Power. Not to fill a need but I think they are a sweet pistol.

I've got alot of the guns the other posters have mentioned, but given unlimited funds without guilty feeling after purchase, I'd love to have:

A high end 1911, commander sized and bob-tailed. .45acp
OR
Or a Sig P210, at close to $2500.
OR
Something really smooth from the Smith custom shop.
OR
Just the model 18 Smith .22 revolver I sold years ago like a fool......

The Ruger Single Six 22lr three screw my Dad gave me when I was 15 that I lost in '99.

Or a Ruger Single Six Hunter to match my SBH Hunter.

I just bought a used S&W Mountain gun 41 mag.Been looking for a long time and finally aquired one$600.00 from my favorite gunsmith. He knew I was looking and took it in on trade.
I fly fish in Grizzly country and see them all the time.Had a couple whoof at me a couple months ago.Do not need to be out there with my Colt woodsman.
What is your opinion on the 41?
Randy

Some good ideas posted already. First thing to pop into my head was an artillery Luger. But a 6 inch Python would be great too. A .44 Automag? Sweet. A local gunshop had one for years. It was the owner's baby with a .357 barrel to boot. In hindsight, shoulda bought it.

No, wait, My final answer would be a Ruger Bisley .500 Linebaugh Maximum like Ross Seyfried shot for G&A. Barrel band, target sights, deep blue, fancy Walnut...heck, let's engrave it since we're rich.
