My friend has a Ruger Security Six in which I'm interested in buying but it looks exactly like the gun in the link below. According to the website, its a blank firing gun. I'm just worried that the gun my friend has is a converted blank firing gun. I just wanna be sure. Also, did ruger really made those grips for that gun? They look like Pachmyr grips but they have Ruger's medallion on them. Thanks!

I have used Security Sixes since their introduction and have never heard of a blank firing model. The later series optional grips are relabeled Pachmyrs. For most of their production run wooden panels were standard. The Ruger Collectors forum may be the place for this question.

If it was converted for blank firing you wont be able to put live cartridges in it. That would be the only reason for a conversion like that. Take a close look at it.

Do I understand correctly that you are worried that gun may have been originally built for blanks only and then converted to live ammo? If that is what you are thinking, don't worry. It would be the other way around, the Security Six you see pictured on that site was originally built for live ammo and converted to blanks only.
And yes, those do look like Pachmayr signature grips.
