Motor for Dillon CV500 tumbler
My Dillon CV500 tumbler motor crapped out for the second time now. This was their small tumbler. The first time it failed in 2007, Dillon charged me $30 for a replacement motor, which included return shipping. Not too bad. Now they want $105 for a replacement motor, which includes return shipping. Plus it will cost another $20 to ship the tumbler to Dillon. Were up to $125 now. Their rep said, they found their choice for the motor for the CV500 was sub standard for the job, and did not hold up. They must have had a bunch of failures. I guess that's why they dropped the CV500 and upgraded the motor, and call it the CV750 now. The rep also informed me that they are now using the motors for their large tumbler as replacements in existing CV500's and billing their customers $105. What a way to treat your customers! I went out and bought a Lyman 1200 turbo after that. I would like to come up with a motor to repair the Dillon myself, if possible, so I might have a spare. I had the Dillon apart and it looks like a standard type motor. It reminds me of a synchronous motor used in a phonograph. Does anyone have any sources for replacement motors?
