7.7 Jap Ammo

Where can I find cheap ammo for a 7.7 Jap rifle. The lowest I have found is $25.99 for 20. this comes to $1.30 a round, less shipping. I need the brass for reloading.

I think that that is the cheap stuff. Hornady started making the 7.7 a few years ago and the price came down, it was in the $2.00 range.

I've shot a 7.7 Jap for going on 30 years and you can buy Hornady loaded ammo or Norma brass. They cost about the same, the brass is of similar quality and you get to shoot the Hornady loads to fire-form them to your chamber.

Do yourself a favor and slug the barrel so you know what bullet diameter to use...it can vary quite a bit.

Your low price is about the lowest I could find as well. Graf's does have 3 different makes of brass including Norma for 27.49/20. Also PRVI brass at $52/100.

I form 7.7 Japanese from 30/06, I do not have the 7.7 case forming die, I do have a 308W forming die, after forming I use an old Herters full length sizer die to finish. I suggest new unfired cases or or once fired, I also suggest using different head stamps as in 20 Military LC, 20 R-P cases, etc. when sorting brass after tumbling it is easier to sort by head stamp.
