I loaded up a bunch of shells in 2002 with something like 24 grains of Accurate Arms 2200 Data Powder. Didn't fill the case all that much. Shot OK, bit the low fill bugged me. I pulled the remainder of those apart and redid them with about 30 grains of IMR-4064 just a few months ago. Not sure of the exact charge, but it's somewhere near thirty grains with the 170-grain flat-nose. Sent 'em to my dad, whom has the gun. It's mine, really. Gave it to me for Christmas 2001. He bought it as a kid in about 1942 and I shot it maybe a dozen times in July 1975. I waited 16 years to get it. Serial number dates it to 1910 or 1911, depending upon which site you use to search the number. Not in bad shape, either...

very cool man! i own a model94 carbine made in 1951 in .32 special i love the **** thing. its at the smith getting DT for lyman reciver sight....(it has already been re-blued at some point in time)
but anyways.....i just got this stuff for christmas from my mother....it was my father reloading equipment...to bad he isnt here now to show me how to use it but im studying and super excited to learn the art!

that box is a third of the way full with .44 brass....i almost want to get another model 94...like a trapper in .44 cal. i already own a .44, it was my fathers also. its a huge virginia dragoon revolver, really cool has a scope that mounts on it, but i like lever guns.

the press is a hornady pro-7. i got shell plates for the 44, 30-30, and 380 auto....looks like its impossible to find parts for this thing.....so will the shell plate for the 30-30 work for my .32? if it wont im going to have to buy a new press....and just use thing for the .44 and 380. if anyone has any of these plates for sale, pm me please! im tinkering around with it the manual is long gone but there are several books on reloading im reading now....but im kinda just playing it by ear figuring out how this old thing works....its a little rusty...took some work to free up the hopper....still havent freed up the press though.... im sure it will come around....if anyone on here uses one of these and knows how to set it up, some tips/info would be cool!

The .32 Winchester special and the 30-30 use the same shell plate. The .32 is basically a .30 caliber case necked up to .32,

My favourite 32 Special ammo is some Canadian CIL Kling Kor Softpoints. I bought a stash of this long discontinued ammo when I bought my rifle. It is 170 grain RN and the bullet design used small dimples to lock the cup to the core.

The 32 Special was very popular in Canada. Oldtimers considered it better for moose. So my choice is all about nationality not performance.

try Marshall's Beartooth bullets. I really like the 170's. Load em up over some 4895.

Works well for me.

okay well ive been researching and reading alot, got that old press cleaned and adjusted (it was a PITA). went bought all the things that i still needed like a case trimmer, tumbler, scale, etc etc....anyways all ready to go...then i was thinking as i was sitting down and admiring it all and it occured to me that progressive presses dont clean primer pockets or give me the chance to do so....should i clean these for my .32 win special? should i just tumble the brass with the old primer in it then run it? also, all of my brass apears to be shorter than what my book says i should trim it to. is it just gonna stretch with use? they messure 2.026-2.032 being the longest one out of the twenty im starting with...my book recomends trimming it to 2.035 and max case size is 2.044...also the instructions for crimping say all my cases need to be the same size. should i just run the cases and only resize and punch the shot primer out, then trim/load then run them again through just the seating die? maybe this progressive press is to much for me right now....

so. now that ive loaded a few runs of your basic 170grain fp.....i want to get into cast....especially that 200grain bullet. anyone ever tried those? got any load data for it? the link below is the company who makes them. OAL would be shorter. but not to short from what i figured.

Have a .32 in a 336A Marlin 1949 manufacture. Here is my cast target with load data on it. I found in mine W748 works well with Hornady 170gn. Mine likes a top end load. Start with 34 gns and work up being careful watching cases and extraction.

Very cool guys. Well I bought a box of those 200 grain boolits from the link I posted above and some 170 and 165. But I've been scouring the Internet to no end searching for data for that 200 grain boolits. It isn't gas checked. And is air cooled. Someone please point me in the right direction.
