My youngest daughter Marta turned 14 this year.
Two years ago (12 years old for those who struggle with higher level math

) she went through 4-H Rifle Safety where they teach them safe gun handling practices and shooting technique with a pellet rifle.
After that is was 4-H Rim Fire shooting at both indoor and outdoor ranges ... more technique and safety.
Then she joined the 4-H shooting team (rimfire).
Earlier this year she took the Hunter's Safety Training course in New York state, got her "course completion card" and yesterday we purchased her junior license for 2012 and will be doing a Father/Daughter Youth Hunt over Columbus Day weekend. We hunt right from the home property but I am not allowed to carry a gun.
Got her decked out in blaze orange and camo yesterday and checked out the hunting area. While there 4 does came bounding down the trail so we know they are using it.
Worked up some light loads for the 45-70 and we'll be in the woods next saturday. The Guide Gun fits her best so we opted for it over the Ruger #1 25-06.
If we have any success I'll post a pic. This is her shooting at one of the matches. She's in the center.
