Browning 53 in 32-20

I picked up or I should say put money down on a Browning 53 in 32-20 NIB. I got it for a little over $500. Its got really nice wood and feels like it fits like a glove when I hold it.
Does anyone have one of these they could pass on info about. I have done a search but havn't come up with to much yet, except the price seems pretty good compared to Guns America and Gun Broker. I know its a Model 92 copy and limited production gun. Thanks

Great Price for NIB Browning 53!

These were a limited run item like many of the Browning remakes. I think I recall that 3500 were made total. No "high grade" version was done as they have with some of the other leverguns but they did a really nice job with these. I have just started to do load development for mine - intending on shooting cast bullets exclusively. Aliant 2400 and small pistol primers are showing the most promise so far but I am not satisfied with the accuracy so far.

Side note - they put a gawdawful heavy ejector spring in this gun. Mine was tossing brass 25 ft. with just a mild opening of the lever. Also - so strong was the spring that it actually caused the brass to be bent at the mouth as the neck cleared that portion of the chamber. I pulled it apart and installed a milder spring and am much happier with it.

Congrats on your new acquisition!

Sky C.
